Internet poker has become world famous lately, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several types on the first poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely resembling chemin de fer than traditional poker, in that the players bet against the bank rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of concealment. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to ante up prior to the croupier broadcasting "No more bets." At that moment, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers attain 5 cards. After you have looked at your hand and the bank’s initial card, you have to either make a call wager or surrender. The call wager’s amount is equal to your beginning wager, indicating that the stakes will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your ante goes instantaneously to the bank. After the wager comes the showdown. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including an amount on par with the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the bank’s hand. The house pays cash equal to your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- two to one for 2 pairs
- three to one for three of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- twenty to one for a four of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
