Right Before you Tilt
May 23rd, 2023 by Gemma

Ah, the steam. If a poker enthusiast states never to have stared faced down the barrel of a looming poker steam – they are either telling a lie or they haven’t been playing very long. This doesn’t imply of course that every poker player has been on tilt before, a few players have wonderful control and carry their losses as a hit and leave it at that. To be a good poker player, it’s especially crucial to treat your wins and your defeats in a similar way – with no emotion. You participate in the game the same way you did following a tough loss as you would after winning a big hand. Most of the poker masters are not attracted by tilting following an awful loss as they are very accomplished and you must be to.

You must understand that you cannot win each hand you are in, regardless if you are the strongest player. Hands which usually cause players to go on tilt are hands that you were the favorite or at a minimum believed you were until you were side swiped and you squandered a gigantic portion of your stack. Bad losses are going to happen. Accept that fact right now, I will say it once more – if your sister plays cards, if your father plays cards, if your grandparents enjoy cards – We all have bad beats at some point. It is an inevitable outcome of playing Texas Hold’em, or really any kind of poker.

Seeing as we are assumingly (most of us) playing poker for one reason – to acquire money, it would make sense that we will play accordingly to maximize profits. Now let’s say you are up one hundred dollars off of a 100 dollars deposit, and you suffer a gigantic hit in a NL game and your stack is at $120. You have burned eighty dollars in a round where you were sure to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and held a 10 – 1 advantage. And that guy! He banged you out on the river? – Well hold it right here. This is a quintessential choice for a brand-new bettor to begin tilting. They just blew too much $$$$ on one hand that they should have won and they’re pissed
