NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
August 28th, 2019 by Gemma

Phil Ivey has been labeled as the best poker player in the world by quite a few of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before reaching the age of one. His papa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative feedback from other people annihilate his goal of being one of the greatest poker competitors on the planet.

Phil started playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the last table he defeated many of the well known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making mistakes every single game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Even though Ivey has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
