Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
April 26th, 2019 by Gemma

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the WPT where he was the only one to make it to the final poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While playing net poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus often participates in the 200/400 NL max buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all-in. I believe Hansen is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to play at the table with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the full amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players in the world might just be players you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be seen competing in online poker on Full Tilt. He usually competes in big stakes omaha hi-low and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his abilities in cash rounds?
