Pai Gow Poker Rules
May 16th, 2010 by Gemma

Let us learn some alternate kinds of poker other than hold’em, seven card stud, five card draw and omaha/8. Yes, pai gow poker. Now you must be wondering that double-hand sounds a bit Chinese; yes you’re correct, this casino game is a blending of the Chinese game pai gow and our own American poker
Absolutely this isn’t one of the most popular forms of poker but still commonly played. It can be enjoyed by up to 7 players. It is played with one deck of cards, plus a joker. Interestingly, joker can be used only as an ace, or to complete a straight, flush, straight flush, or royal flush. The essential aspect here to always remember is aside from the customary ranking of hands we have one more winning hand which is "Five Aces" (5 aces including the joker). Astonishingly, five aces defeats all other hand yes, even a royal flush. Each gambler is given seven cards. The cards are aligned to create 2 hands; a two card hand and a five card hand. The five card hand must be stronger or be equal to the 2 card hand.
After arranging the 2 hands, the cards are laid on the table face down. Once on the table, you are no longer allowed to switch them. The croupier will turn over their cards and assemble their hands. Each players hand is compared to the croupier’s hands. If the player wins 1 hand and loses the other, this is called a "push" and no cash is lost or won. If croupier wins the two hands then the gambler gives up their bet and vice versa. Now if the hand is a tie, the dealer wins everything. After the hand is played, the next person clock-wise becomes the croupier and the next hand is dealt.
